Developed over a span of almost 20 years, Kowana Valley has miles of maintained hiking trails, a year-round creek, multiple swimming holes, and even a limestone cave to explore.
Kowana Valley is great as a stand-alone retreat or can be a convenient base-camp for excursions into Yosemite Valley and its surrounds.
You will stay at our 2,700 sqf lodge with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, a fire pit area, a bbq grill, and a rec room with ping pong table.
Custom-designed to operate in the middle of the Stanislaus National Forest without utilities service, the Kowana Valley Lodge operates on a 100% off-grid system but functions with the convenience and familiarity of a home in the city.

*open fires are not allowed during the fire season in Mariposa County. please refrain from campfires until fire season has concluded in the Fall*
**due to this year's extreme drought, the creek in the direct vicinity of the lodge has run dry. the water comes back farther downstream, just a 15min hike. the water still runs farther upstream by the "pot hole" swimming holes and by the upper swimming hole**
***The closest medical facility is at least 30 minutes away, so either be aware and be prepared for those with underlying medical conditions or needs.***

The owners are a relatively young family who are looking to continue the development of Kowana Valley into a self-sustaining homestead. The rental income from the Lodge will help to supplement their journey.Location
